Chants libres

Friday 28th June 2024 - 8 pm - Manufacture Cosserat (Amiens)

For this 3rd edition of “Chants libres”, a season of choral singing created by the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation, the Aedes ensemble invites you to discover the heritage of the Somme department through music! A rich program including public concerts in markets, heritage sites, as well as concerts in health establishments.

This program will take you to the Manufacture Cosserat, a former jewel in the history of Amiens’ textile industry, to Albert’s downtown and to the park of Saint-Riquier Abbey. Follow us in this journey through a choice of varied music.

On the Manufacture Cosserat site, the ensemble will stroll to the rhythm of its “Immortal Bach” program, devoted to the motet from Bach to the present day. Mathieu Romano has conceived a concert  in the form of  a “spiritual” journey of homage to early music, based on the famous motet “Jesu, meine Freude”.

The program also includes varied music, from French chanson to traditional song, from a cappella classics to jazz standards… From Michel Legrand to Francis Poulenc, via Charles Trenet, Philip Glass, Billy Joel… our “Comme un air de vacances” program has been imagined as a summer correspondence, in the form of postcards.
