Requiem de Fauré

Friday 23rd August 2024 - 9 pm - Abbatiale Saint-Robert (Festival de La Chaise-Dieu)

On the occasion of Gabriel Fauré’s centenary in 2024, the Aedes ensemble will perform his Requiem, a universally acclaimed work that captivated audiences at its premiere in 1893. It is this original version that Aedes and Les Siècles, conducted by Mathieu Romano, will perform on historic instruments.

The Festival de La Chaise-Dieu has commissioned a work by Thomas Lacôte which will be given its world premiere, providing an opportunity to question the contemporary meaning of the sacred and its musical celebration.
