Liebeslieder Waltzes
Centred around Brahms’ famous Liebeslieder Waltzes for choir and piano four hands, this programme evokes the passion of love by looking at the affiliation of three great German Romantic composers.
For the poetic material in this programme, we have chosen works setting the most beautiful love poetry of Romantic poets such as Goethe, Heine, Eichendorff and Mörike, whose words are transfigured by the music.
The programme seeks to point out the links between the three composers who form part of a musical continuum, inheriting the philosophy of their elders and inspiring the next generation in their turn.
